  • Choose a company with which you are familiar.  You will write your paper with a focus on one company.  Do not write broadly about companies in general. 

 Write a paper of 350 words or more.  

  • Select one of the following HR functions (Employment/Recruiting, Compensation, Benefits Administration, Training, Employee Relations, Reward and Recognition, Performance Management )  Clearly describe the HR responsibilities associated with that function in your selected organization.  (Do not write about why the function is important.  Instead describe the actual responsibilities (i.e. the duties, tasks,etc) of the HR dept for this function. In other words, what the HR department actually do to carry out this function? 
  • Explain how your selected HR function impacts one of the following strategic planning process in your company(company growth/expansion, product or service diversification, quality improvement, talent acquisition and retention, increase company brand recognition, increase community partnerships/alliances) in your selected organization

Organize your paper like this

Do not include an introductory or concluding paragraph.

    • One paragraph identifying your selected HR function and describing the responsibilities associated with that function in your selected organization.  (Duties, tasks, etc – see above). 
    • One paragraph explaining how this function affects strategic planning  for one of the following strategic plan objectives: (company growth/expansion, product or service diversification, quality improvement, talent acquisition and retention, increase company brand recognition, increase community partnerships/alliances) in your selected organization.

Write all sections in 1st or 3rd person.  Be consistent.  (See Writing Tips posted in Main Forum on how to write in 3rd person).

Cite your references. If you used an electronic source, include the link.  Make sure you use in-text citations in the body of the paper to identify any work that relies upon information from another source. Even if you have re-written researched work in your own words (paraphrased) you must cite your source. Make sure that no more than 15% of your paper contains non-original work.

Format your paper consistent with APA guidelines.
